Firmly grounded in the Gurdjieff lineage, The Gurdjieff Legacy Foundation sponsors talks, workshops and seminars in the direction set by its founder William Patrick Patterson, who actively studied and practiced the teaching of The Fourth Way for fifty-three years. He was a direct student of Lord John Pentland, the man Mr. Gurdjieff appointed to lead the Work in America. Mr. Patterson's rich Fourth Way legacy includes authoring ten books, and seven films, including the first documentary trilogy, The Life & Significance of G. I. Gurdjieff, as well as Introduction to Gurdjieff's Fourth Way Parts 1, 2, 3 and Spiritual Pilgrimage: Mr. Gurdjieff's Father's Grave.
Teresa Adams, continuing in the lineage as Mr. Patterson's direct student for over 30 years, is the director of The Gurdjieff Legacy Foundation which explores the fundamental ideas and practices of the Teaching, extending from its base to its furthest horizon. She leads groups, and oversees The Online Fourth Way School, as well as The Gurdjieff Journal (est. 1992).
